Wow! I don’t know about you but I never thought I would see the earth in such a resting state right now. The resting part is actually nice if we need to find a silver lining. I must say I have done more self care and routines established for myself and family that I can talk about at another time. Currently I want to share the ways that our small business operates with the hopes of continuing more ways to reduce our carbon footprint. Today officially marks 50 years of celebrating Earth Day.
KO Beauty Bar = eco-friendly
There are so many things we can do to make a difference every moment of every day. Our salon prides itself with a “green clean” environment providing Beauty, Life, and Wellness eco-friendly products and services. (Currently we are at rest of services since March 17, 2020...hoping to return May 4th)
Our Current list of helping our work environment, our health and earth:
We strive to educate-use hair care, cleaning products that are clean, cruelty-free, and eco-friendly. We are on our way to being a certified green salon.
We donate/recycle your hair for oil spills, wigs, gardening, Hum Sum member
Reusable cloths to dry hands in our restroom made by Cassie Johnson
Provide washable cups for refreshments
Recycle paper, plastic, glass, cans, cardboard - Epping transfer station accepts
Collect pop-tops from aluminum cans to go to the Shriners Can Tab Program
We use LED lights which last 25x longer, leaving less waste, & use 82% less energy
Reduce food waste, we just started saving compost for our friends chickens
Unplug appliances when not in use, shut down for end of day
Collect rain water to water our plants
Our air purifying plants help regulate the temperature and air quality
Paperless receipts & online client forms
Small commute for Kayla, the Beauty Bar is on the lower level of her Raised Ranch
